For the first part of the half term we are looking at how to keep our bodies healthy. We will be tasting lots of different vegetables, designing and making our own healthy wraps, carrying out an investigation to see what sugar does to our teeth, drawing and writing instructions of how to brush our teeth and making obstacle courses. We will also be having a visit from a dentist to find out how to take care of our teeth.

For the second part of the half term we will be learning all about animals. We will be having some pets coming into school and we will be learning how to take care of them. We will also be sketching and writing about our favourite zoo animals before going on a school trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We will then be celebrating, 'Wear it wild' day and learning all about endangered animals and how we can help them.

We will still be carrying out our 'Nature School' sessions on a Monday where we have a full morning of outdoor learning in our school ECO land. We now also have mini sessions daily in the ECO land to build up our independent learning outdoors.

Our RE topic is, 'Good News' where we will be learning what good news is and will learn the story of Pentecost. We will be acting out the story and making kites to represent the Holy Spirit. We will finish our RE topic with a Pentecost party to show we are celebrating that Jesus is risen.

In FS2 our PE lessons are on Thursday mornings so all children will need their PE kits on this day. The correct PE kit consists of: a white t-shirt, red shorts and plimsolls for indoor sports. Trainers are required for outdoor activities. All children will receive a school reading book to take home. These books will be changed once a week. Please try to ensure your child reads at home for at least 15 minutes each night and gets their home/school diary signed to indicate that this has happened. Please encourage your child to read other books at home as well.
