Our Forest School

We are very fortunate to have an on site Forest School at Holy Trinity known as ‘Eco-land’.  This is a large designated area of land behind the main school playground.  Mrs Smith is our trained Forest School Leader who delivers Forest School to each class across the school weekly and works alongside teachers to support embedding the Forest School approach to learning into the wider curriculum.

Ecoland includes a designated outdoor classroom, an outdoor toilet, a seating area, a pond and a bird hide as well as a large open space for a range of environmental activities.

Our school is situated directly next to Sconce Park and as such, we also work in very close partnership with the Park Rangers so that the children benefit from an even wider range of Forest School activities.

Spending time outdoors not only provides health benefits, but also improves children’s communication and language skills, their self esteem and confidence and encourages positive personal and social development – all of which we place great value upon at Holy Trinity.

Please take a look at the pictures below which show some of the great learning that goes on in Eco-Land…
