Our Autumn topic is 'Narnia - Another World'. We will be learning about the Narnia story and writing character descriptions, as well as creating a Narnia landscape. We will be creating poems and developing our sentence structure. Our Maths is counting, reading and writing numbers within 10, as well as number bonds to 10, addition and subtraction and Shape.

In Science we will be learning about materials and seasons. In History we will be evacuees for the day and looking at household objects from the past. For DT we will be making puppets and will be learning about algorithms in Computing.

Our RE topics are: Beginnings, Signs and Symbols and Preparations.

In Key Stage One our homework is given out on Friday and is due back to school no later than the following Wednesday. It will normally consist of reading and spelling words containing sounds that we have been learning during that week.

Other less frequent  homework will include Topic and Come and See tasks.

Reading is such a valuable life skill and is also relevant across all subjects within school. Regular practise really does make a huge difference to reading ability, as does talking about what has been read with someone at home too. Please try to ensure your child reads at home for at least 15 minutes each night and gets their home/school diary signed to indicate that this has happened.

In our class, PE will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. It is expected that your child will have the appropriate indoor and outdoor PE kit available on these days. The correct PE kit consists of: a white t-shirt, red shorts and plimsolls for indoor sports. Trainers are required for outdoor activities. Earrings will need to be removed at home before PE lessons please.

We will be going out to Eco Land on Friday mornings. Please ensure that your child has appropriate clothing ie: warm clothes on cold days (waterproof if possible), hats, gloves and wellies
