Welcome to The Conker's class page.
Welcome to 'The Conker's' class page. Mrs Parker is the class teacher and Mrs Smith, Mrs Fraser and Miss Piotrowska are the Teaching Assistants.
Here you can find lots of information about EYFS, as well as keeping up to date with all of the exciting things that we get up to throughout the school year.
During this academic year, we will be communicating a lot more through the use of Class Dojo and sharing lots of the children's wonderful work here too. Please do ensure you have set up your Class Dojo account in order to access this.
If you need to contact us at any time throughout the year, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We can be reached through the messaging feature on your Class Dojo account, via email or in school, by appointment with the school office.
Monday - The children will come home with a new 'Reading for Plesure' book which they will have chosen with the help of their Year 6 Reading Buddy. This is a book for YOU to read and enjoy to THEM at bedtime. This will need returning to school on a Friday please. They will also come home with a picture book (this is for them to tell you the story from what they can see), a Sound Blending book, a paper Ditty or a RWI Book Bag book (these they read to you using Fred Talk).
We will also be visiting Eco-Land on a Monday afternoon too so please send your child into school with a suitable coat, sun hat/cap and wellies in a carrier bag.
Friday - Is P.E day so please send your child into school WEARING their P.E kit (dark coloured tracksuit bottoms or leggings, a white t-shirt and a red hoodie/sweatshirt or their school jumper or cardigan and wearing trainers or plimsols)
We are really excited about our topic for this half term which is “Wonderful World” and each week we will be finding out about a different kind of animal, all chosen by the children themselves. We begin by celebrating “Healthy Week” and then we move onto learning about rainforest animals, the big cat family, dinosaurs, sharks, whales and dolphins and finishing with other creatures of the sea. We are ending the term with a mini topic on transport where we are hoping that the Traffic Police will pay us a visit! Our ‘Everywhere Bear’ will continue to bring us a new book and our week’s learning will be centered around this. In true Conker Class tradition we are hoping you will join us for a “Monster Truck” Big Build using our scrap shed materials and large junk modelling.
In ‘Come and See’ we will be taking a look at Islam and our final topic of the year is Our World. We will explore what we love and wonder about our world. We will learn that everyone shares in God’s world and we will learn how we can thank God for our Wonderful World.
